After the meeting with Sakuâs mother, Hana was shown to a room that had been prepared for her use.
The room was provisioned with everything she would need to start her new life without any inconveniences. Apparently, Saku had arranged everything himself.
âIs there anything else youâd like?â he asked her.
âNo. If anything, youâve prepared too much,â she replied. He had even had the room stocked with her favorite brand of makeup. It was actually scary how thorough he had been.
ââ¦Why are you making that face?â Saku grimaced. Hana was looking at him as if he was no better than a stalker.
âIt creeps me out how thoroughly you researchedâ¦,â she said bluntly.
âYou should choose your words with more tact. Even I can get hurt, you know,â he said.
âWhoops, sorry, I didnât mean to say what I was truly thinking.â
âIs that your idea of tact?â
In the middle of their banter, the door slammed open, and a maid with ponytails and dog ears flew into the room. âMy beloved Master! How could you leave Tsubaki here all alone? Gosh! Where have you been?â She threw herself on Saku and hugged him tightly.
Hana watched the spectacle, grimacing with disgust. ââM-my belovedââ¦? You have your cute puppy-eared maid call you âbelovedâ?â she asked in shock. âSo thatâs your fetish. I never wouldâve guessed just looking at youâ¦â
âYouâve got it all wrong! Itâs not what youâre imagining!â Saku protested.
Until a practitioner actually summoned their shikigami, they had no idea what the shikigami was going to look like. When Hana had created Aoi and Miyabi, it wasnât as if she had sat down, decided on their genders, and designed their appearances herself.
So the fact that Tsubaki had turned out to be a girl with animal ears hadnât been up to Saku. But the frilly maid uniform, on the other handâ¦
âI canât believe youâve been hiding a maid fetish all this time. And with a face like thatâ¦,â Hana said, shying away.
Saku rushed to refute her. âThis is my shikigami, Tsubaki. Wearing maid uniforms is her hobby!â He peeled Tsubaki off him and put distance between them. âTsubaki, introduce yourself.â
âI am my darling Masterâs lover, Tsubaki!â she said.
âI knew it,â Hana said.
âWhat do you mean?!â Saku said to Hana. He turned to Tsubaki. âAnd you! Stop saying things people will misunderstand!â He looked at Tsubaki wide-eyed and smacked her lightly on the head.
âAwww, that hurt! Youâre so meeean, darling,â she mewled. Everything she said sounded like it was capped with a heart emoji.
However, Tsubaki might have looked adorable, but the massive power resting inside her was anything but.
Hana brought a hand up to her chin, watching Tsubaki with a narrowed gaze. âMaybe on the same level as Aoiâ¦â
Hana had created Aoi to be a combat specialist, so he was more powerful than both Azuha and Miyabi. Tsubaki appeared to be just as strong.
âAoi?â Tsubaki parroted with a tilt of her head. Her sharp ears had picked up Hanaâs muttering.
âUmmm, heâs my shikigami,â Hana replied.
âOooh, I wanna see! Where is he?â Tsubaki asked.
